A tese é sustentada há muitos anos — inclusive com base em documentos — pela publicação “International Currency Review“, de Londres que

CIA Accused Of Bank Heist
https://www.globalresearch.ca/articles/THO308A.html
The CIA and the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) are accused by International Currency Review, the London-based journal,
of mounting a joint ultra-secret operation to electronically remove an estimated $10 billion out of the Iraqi Central Bank
00.000.2003 -hours before the start of Persian Gulf War II.
The whereabouts of the money is not known.
“We believe it is in a secret CIA fund which will be used to mount further special services operations, such as tracking down Saddam Hussein,” said the Review’s publisher, Christopher Story.
Story is a former financial advisor to Lady Thatcher when she was Britain’s prime minister.
In the past 10 years, he has testified before several congressional committees dealing with financial scandals.
DIA coordinates all intelligence for the Joint Chiefs of Staff. It is headquartered in the Pentagon.
The report is titled “The Great Robbery of the Central Bank of Iraq.”
It has been sent to finance ministers of leading nations, the World Bank, the Bank of England + heads of all other major banks.
The report is bound to cause huge embarrassment to President Bush after he signed an executive order on
23.Mar.2--- ordering a worldwide hunt for the hidden assets of Saddam Hussein + his family.
The Review claims that using skilled hackers recruited by the DIA + key Iraqi bank officials who had been bribed to provide secret access codes to the Central Bank’s accounts for Saddam Hussein + his family,
the money was transferred out of the bank in a high-tech operation.
According to the General Accounting Office (GAO), the investigative agency of Congress, Saddam was estimated
00.000.1997-00.000.2000 to have accumulated “$6.6 billion from illegal oil smuggling + from illicit deals connected with the United Nations oil for food program

Bush Silences a Dangerous Witness - By Robert Parry
30.Dec.2006
Like a blue-blood version of a Mob family with global reach,
the Bushes have eliminated one more key witness to the important historical events that led the U.S. military into a bloody stalemate in Iraq + pushed the Middle East to the brink of calamity......
The U.S. military is now sitting on a treasure trove of documents seized during the invasion of Iraq 00.000.2003.
The Bush administration exploited these documents to discredit the United Nations over the “oil for food” scandal of the
00.000.1990 s, ironically when Hussein wasn’t building weapons of mass destruction. But
the Bush administration has withheld the records from the 1980s when Hussein was producing chemical + biological weapons.
00.000.2004 -in-,for instance the CIA released the so-called Duelfer report, which acknowledged that the administration’s pre-invasion assertions about Hussein hiding WMD stockpiles were “almost all wrong.” But
a curious feature of the report was that it included a long section about Hussein’s abuse of the U.N.’s “oil for food” program, although the report acknowledged that the diverted funds had not gone to build illegal weapons.
Meanwhile, the report noted the existence of a robust WMD program
in the 1980s but offered no documentary perspective on how that operation had occurred + who was responsible for the delivery of crucial equipment + precursor chemicals.
In other words, the CIA’s WMD report didn’t identify the non-Iraqis who made Iraq’s WMD arsenal possible.
One source who has seen the evidence told me that it contains
information about the role of Chilean arms dealer Carlos Cardoen,
who has been identified as a key link between the CIA + Iraq for the procurement of dangerous weapons
in the 1980s.
But that evidence has remained locked away.

It is not our intent to discuss the unethical and even illegal business practices of the failed savings and loans and their governmental collaborators.
The outlandish salaries paid by S & L executives to themselves,
the subsidies to the thrifts from Congress which rewarded incompetence + fraud,
the land "flips" which resulted in real estate being sold back + forth in an endless "kiting" scheme + the political manipulation designed to delay the scandal
00.000.1988 -until after- the presidential elections are all immensely interesting and important.
But they are subjects for others' inquiries.
Our interest is in the savings and loans as living, breathing organisms that fused criminal corporations, organized crime + the CIA into a single entity that served the interests of the political + economic elite in America.
Let us begin by quickly summarizing the most blatant examples of collaboration between financial institutions, the mob + the intelligence community.-CONTINUED... https://www.thirdworldtraveler.com/CIA/S&L_Scandal_CIA.h...

03.Jan.2007 Fox News Segment Falsely Claims That Denver Blizzard Casts Doubt On Global Warming - Amanda -
Today, prominent climate skeptics Pat Michaels and Dan Gainor appeared on Fox News’ Your World with Neil Cavuto to argue that the recent snowstorms in Denver prove there is a “Northeast bias” on global warming.
Both agreed with Cavuto’s claim that if “more of those who support global warming did not live in the East Coast, or more specifically in New York + were stationed in Denver,” they might be more skeptical of global warming.
Michaels added that “if you believe that warming causes cooling, you’re like my neighbors down in Virginia who think that if you put hot water in the ice cube tray, it freezes faster.
It doesn’t work that way.” Watch it:
The severe blizzards in Colorado weren’t necessarily caused by global warming. But they also don’t prove that climate change isn’t happening.
As the concentration of carbon dioxide increases, the frequency of extreme weather events — including snowstorms — also increases.
Additionally, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s 2001 report notes that “global average water vapour concentration and precipitation are projected to increase during the 21st century.”
PAT MICHAELS: Uh, Neil, if you believe that warming causes cooling, you’re like my neighbors down in Virginia who think that if you put hot water in the ice cube tray, it freezes faster. It doesn’t work that way.
And in fact, in Denver, there were very few people who, I think, tried to conflate the snowstorm with warming, they just tried to ignore the fact, that in fact it’s snowing like crazy in Denver, despite the fact that unlike in the East, where there is no warming trend in the winter temperatures, there is a warming trend in the winter temperatures in Colorado.
NEIL CAVUTO: Dan, if more of those who support global warming did not live in the East Coast, or more specifically in New York + were stationed in Denver, they might have a different take on things?
DAN GAINOR: Oh, I think so.

Former NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw, who delivered a eulogy at President Gerald Ford’s funeral today, appeared this morning on the Don Imus radio show. Brokaw agreed with Imus that it is “difficult to imagine” how the execution of Saddam Hussein “could have turned out worse.”
“[W]e portray ourselves around the world as the champions of democracy and the rule of law,” Brokaw said, yet Hussein’s execution “resembled the worst kind of nightmare out of the old American West.” As a result, Hussein, who “had disappeared, in effect, as some kind of a symbol over there, suddenly becomes a martyr.” Watch it: Digg It! Full transcript:
IMUS: Could we have a worse turn of events with the Saddam Hussein video and all that?
BROKAW: No, it’s — you know, as we portray ourselves around the world as the champions of democracy and the rule of law — first of all, that began to unravel in the eyes of a lot of people in that part of world with Abu Ghraib and the great cruelties and indignities that were imposed on people there. The debate goes on here about Guantanamo and about access to people’s private records. And then to say that we are going to install in Iraq a judicial system and a democratic form of government and have something that resembled the worst kind of nightmare out of the old American West. Not much dignity. He was, he was a god awful man and he did have a trial, but not have control of the execution + to have it really just fuel more sectarian violence at a time when we are trying to dampen that is not helpful, which is an understatement.
IMUS: Well, I guess the New York Times reported and I was also talking to Richard about that the United States apparently unsuccessfully prevailed about Maliki to delay this.
BROKAW: Yep.
IMUS: I wonder, I wonder why he refused? I mean…
BROKAW: I honestly don’t know either. But Saddam Hussein who had disappeared, in effect, as some kind of a symbol over there, suddenly becomes a martyr. He was a terrible tyrant who was responsible for an untold number of deaths, you know, waged his own jihad against the Shiite in that country, especially in the south following Operation Desert Storm in the early 1990s + now he’s able to stand up there with the hood off and invoke prayer and even invoke the Palestinians + go out in the eyes of his people at least as a martyr.
IMUS: I mean, it’s difficult to imagine how this could have turned out worse.
BROKAW: No, it is pretty difficult to imagine + it’s, you know, just as the military commanders and the political people who are trying to run the war think that they’ve got something quieted over in one front, it pops up in another.
03.Jan.2007 Contrary To Pentagon Claims, Gen. Casey Still Warning Against Troop Escalation In Iraq - Amanda -
23.Dec.2006 an anonymous Defense Department official told the Los Angeles Times that top American military commanders in Iraq, including Gen. George Casey,
had “decided to recommend a ’surge’ of fresh American combat forces.”
But in an interview last Friday, Casey told reporters that he still has doubts about an President Bush’s troop escalation plan in Iraq. From today’s New York Times:
The longer we in the U.S. forces continue to bear the main burden of Iraq’s security, it lengthens the time that the government of Iraq has to take the hard decisions about reconciliation and dealing with the militias. And the other thing is that they can continue to blame us for all of Iraq’s problems, which are at base their problems. … It’s always been my view that a heavy and sustained American military presence was not going to solve the problems in Iraq over the long term .
Additionally, according to Casey’s spokesman, the general, as of Dec. 23, had “not recommended more troops be sent here.”
The Bush administration has been heavily pushing the idea that there is support for troop escalation in Iraq. But in reality, the Joint Chiefs of Staff are unanimously opposed to Bush’s plan to send more troops to Iraq, as are prominent conservative senators, including outgoing Foreign Relations committee chairman Richard Lugar (R-IN) and outgoing Judiciary committee chairman Arlen Specter (R-PA). Many military officials believe that Bush has tried to bribe them into supporting his escalation plan by offering a tradeoff of increasing the size of the military.
Casey was “scheduled to shift out of Iraq in the summer.” But that now may “happen in February or March.”

03.Jan.2007 Goode: Ellison’s Election Shows We Are ‘Vulnerable To Infiltration’ By Those Who Want Another 9/11 - Judd -
In a letter to constituents, Rep. Virgil Goode (R-VA) blasted Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), the first Muslim elected to Congress, for using a Koran in a private, unofficial swearing in ceremony. Goode wrote, “I fear that in the next century we will have many more Muslims in the United States if we do not adopt the strict immigration policies that I believe are necessary to preserve the values and beliefs traditional to the United States of America.”
Goode’s remarks have been widely criticized as bigoted. But he’s not backing down. In an op-ed in this morning’s USA Today, Goode writes that Ellison’s election is an indication that we are at risk of “infiltration” by Islamic extremists who want another 9/11. An excerpt:
My letter also stated, “If American citizens don’t wake up and adopt the Virgil Goode position on immigration there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office and demanding the use of the Quran.”
Let us remember that we were not attacked by a nation on 9/11; we were attacked by extremists who acted in the name of the Islamic religion. I believe that if we do not stop illegal immigration totally, reduce legal immigration and end diversity visas, we are leaving ourselves vulnerable to infiltration by those who want to mold the United States into the image of their religion, rather than working within the Judeo-Christian principles that have made us a beacon for freedom-loving persons around the world.
In response to Goode’s column, the USA Today editors write, “Tolerance and religious freedom are at America’s heart. So is the nation’s embrace of people from all countries and cultures. Several million Muslims live in the USA. It is to the nation’s credit that one of them will join Congress this week.”
03.Jan.2007 Roadside bombs - Amanda - have caused “over a third of the 3,000 American GI deaths in Iraq.” The Christian Science Monitor notes that these IEDs have “bedeviled” Pentagon war planners and “the danger is increasing despite efforts to counter it.”

03.Jan.2007 Researchers Work Around Hepatitis Drug Patent - kdawson 90 -
Several readers let us know about a pair of British researchers who found a workaround to patents covering drugs used to treat hepatitis C. The developers intend to produce a drug cheap enough to supply to people in the poorest parts of the world. The scientists found another way to bind a sugar to interferon, producing a drug they say should be as long-lasting and effective as those sold (at $14,000 for a year's supply) by patent holders Hoffman-La Roche and Schering Plough. Clinical trials could begin by 2008. The article quotes developer Sunil Shaunak of Imperial College London: "We in academic medicine can either choose to use our ideas to make large sums of money for small numbers of people, or to look outwards to the global community and make affordable medicines."

While we all know from reading the internets that Wal-Mart is irredeemably evil, the world's largest retailer has committed to get compact fluorescent lightbulbs into 100 million homes this year. CFLs are found in only 6% of households today. These energy-saving bulbs use 75% less electricity than incandescents and produce far less greenhouse gas to manufacture and use. Wal-Mart seems determined to use its marketing prowess to do what hasn't successfully been done in the CFL's 25-year history: to convince consumers to pay more upfront for large savings over the product's lifetime.

02.Jan.2007 Saddam's illegal execution is part of US war plan: When will the people stand trial who have used cluster bombs and white phosphorous against the Iraqi people; those who are guilty of the siege of Fallujah and Najjaf that bombed and starved these cities' population to death; those who are responsible for the anarchy and chaos the Iraqi people had to endure after the "liberation"?

The silence of the western antiwar movement on the lynching of Saddam Hussein is deafening and is increasingly beginning to prove what a lot of discerning people have suspected all along – that the mainstream anti-war movement (including large parts of its left wing) in the west is the well concealed left boot of western imperialism, the conscience of the conqueror. Old story: Women may have it worse at retirement
Fearing President Bush is poised to escalate the Iraq war, several New England Democrats said they will support spending restrictions to block a potential troop surge, or even leverage a withdrawal.
President Bush began 2006 assuring the country that he had a ?strategy for victory in Iraq.? He ended the year closeted with his war cabinet on his ranch trying to devise a new strategy, because the existing one had collapsed. Duh, tham makes how many years of mission unaccomplished.

"No, it's not another movie sequel. DieHard is a piece of software which helps programs to run correctly and protects them from a range of security vulnerabilities. It has been developed by computer scientists from the University of Massachusetts Amherst — and Microsoft. DieHard prevents crashes and hacker attacks by focusing on memory. Our computers have thousands times more memory than 20 years ago. Still, programmers are privileging speed and efficiency over security, which leads to the famous "buffer overflows" which are exploited by hackers."

02.Jan.2007 RIAA Goes for the Max Against AllofMP3 - ScuttleMonkey 27 - Spad writes
"Zeropaid is reporting that as part of its ongoing lawsuit, the RIAA will be seeking the maximum of $150,000 per song for each of the 11 million MP3s downloaded from the Russian AllofMP3.com between June and October last year. This amounts to roughly $1.65 trillion, probably a tad more than AllofMP3 has made in its lifetime. A representative of AllofMP3 stated: 'AllofMP3 understands that several U.S. record label companies filed a lawsuit against Media Services in New York. This suit is unjustified as AllofMP3 does not operate in New York. Certainly the labels are free to file any suit they wish, despite knowing full well that AllofMP3 operates legally in Russia. In the mean time, AllofMP3 plans to continue to operate legally and comply with all Russian laws.'"

The phrase was used repeatedly by the Bush administration to describe their strategy in Iraq. Watch just a few examples:
Subsequently, the White House subsequently claimed their policy has “never been…stay the course.” President Bush will soon unveil a “new way forward” for Iraq, which is expected to involve sending more U.S. troops to Iraq. 01.Jan.2007 Chief Justice Roberts laments ‘constitutional crisis.’ - Judd - He says pay for federal judges is too low. "Brad Holian, a senior scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory, is using a blog to organize resistance to plans for random polygraph and drug testing of Lab scientists. Holian writes: 'Polygraphy is an insulting affront to scientists, since a committee of the National Academy of Sciences has declared that, beyond being inadmissible in court, there is no scientific basis for polygraphs. In my opinion, by agreeing to be polygraphed, one thereby seriously jeopardizes his or her claim to being a scientist, which is presumably the principal reason for employment for many scientists at Los Alamos.'"

01.Jan.2007 Flying To the US? Pay In Cash - kdawson 99 - pin_gween writes to point us to a report in the Telegraph that
British travelers using a credit card to purchase their ticket may now have their credit card and email accounts inspected by US authorities.
00.Oct.2006 -since-This has been true- when the US + the EU agreed about what information the US could demand from airlines and how this information would be handled.
But details of the agreement only recently came to light following a Freedom of Information request.
The US says it will "encourage" US carriers to reciprocate to any requests by European governments. From the article:
"[T]he Americans are entitled to 34 separate pieces of Passenger Name Record (PNR) data...
Initially, such material could be inspected for seven days but a reduced number of US officials could view it for three + a half years.
Should any record be inspected during this period, the file could remain open for eight years...
'It is pretty horrendous, particularly when you couple it with our one-sided extradition arrangements with the US,' said [a human rights activist].
'It is making the act of buying a ticket a gateway to a host of personal email and financial information.
While there are safeguards, it appears you would have to go to a US court to assert your rights.'"

We cannot support Linux in a legal way. So the answer is: No support for Linux.' An online petition has been set up to create pressure to convince the EU council to change its service to one that is platform independent."
