"Das konstante Verhältnis deutet darauf hin, dass Schwarzes Loch und die umgebende Galaxie einander beeinflussen, wenn sie wachsen", sagt Dominik Riechers vom California Institute of Technology in Pasadena.

Nun haben Riechers und Walter gemeinsam mit weiteren Astronomen vier junge Galaxien entdeckt, für die das 700:1-Gesetz nicht gilt. "Das Masseverhältnis schwankt zwischen 5:1 und 10:1", berichtet der Max-Planck-Forscher.

Walter und seine Kollegen glauben, dass sie das kosmische Henne-Ei-Problem damit gelöst haben.

"Es sieht so aus, als ob die Schwarzen Löcher zuerst da waren", sagte Chris Carilli vom National Radio Astronomy Observatory auf einem Treffen der American Astronomical Society in Long Beach (Kalifornien).

Vegetables such as corn, potatoes and lettuce absorb antibiotics when grown in soil fertilized with livestock manure, according to tests conducted at the University of Minnesota.

Today, close to 70 % of all antibiotics and related drugs used in the United States are routinely fed to cattle, pigs and poultry, according to the Union of Concerned Scientists.

Although this practice sustains a growing demand for meat, it also generates public health fears associated with the expanding presence of antibiotics in the food chain.

Angolagate

Gaydamak left France after many years, after an international arrest warrant was issued for him in connection with Angolagate, an arms-dealing scandal. He is wanted on two charges; illegal arms dealing with Angola, and tax evasion.

France has unsuccessfully attempted to obtain his extradition from Israel, but this has been declined by the Israeli judiciary on the grounds that the factual allegations could not be considered as an offense under the laws of the extraditing country (in this case, Israel) at the time that they were allegedly committed, this being an international prerequisite of extradition, and that other alleged offenses, such as fiscal ones, are not extraditable by nature.

I'm both stunned and amused. When Panetta was a congressman from California, one of his constituents was arch conspiracy theorist Mae Brussell, who, though liberal in her basic stance, held a cynical attitude toward just about every well-known politician, regardless of party. When asked to name an office-holder whom she admired, she replied "Leon Panetta."
He was one of the few people in politics whom she did not accuse of being in the pocket of the CIA. (At least, not to my knowledge.) And now he's going to run the shop!
“He will bring a wealth of knowledge of the government to the C.I.A. post and an outside perspective that I think might be helpful at this juncture in the C.I.A.’s history,” said Lee Hamilton, the former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and a co-chairman of the Iraq Study Group. Hamilton, whom I have long disliked, is the guy I thought would snag the post, if only because he is so compromised. But if Hamilton is compromised, then his praise of Panetta means...well, I'm not sure what it means.
The selection of George H.W. Bush as DCI was the last time an administration chose an "outsider" to run the CIA. Everyone now acknowledges that Bush was not an outsider at all; he had a long and secret history with the agency.

Der wirklich überraschende Teil für mich ist ja, dass auch unsere Mainstream-Medien langsam merken, wie der Hase läuft. Ich klicke gerade auf tagesschau.de herum und sehe da die folgenden Meldungen zum Thema:

Der Bevölkerung im Gazastreifen geht es dreckig, Hilfsorganisationen appellieren. Es fehle zudem an Medikamenten und Betäubungsmitteln, und selbst an Leichensäcken und Tüchern, um die Toten zu bedecken.

Krankenhäuser haben zu wenig Blutkonserven. Die Wut in der arabischen Welt über Tatenlosigkeit wächst (vgl Uri Avnery über Ägypten oben)

ARD-Kommentar: "Der Grundfehler ist die pro-israelische Schlagseite".

Er spricht weiter von der "israelischen Besatzungsarmee" und schreibt weiter, wenn es sich bei den 500 Toten um Israelis gehandelt hätte, hätten die EU-Diplomaten ihren Urlaub unterbrochen. Sollte da tatsächlich ein Aufwachen stattfinden?

Dauert ja auch schon lange genug, der Dornröschenschlaf der Medien. Aber hey, ich finde wir schenken Israel erst mal noch ein paar Atomuboote zu unseren Atombomben dazu!

Die perfekte Gelegenheit! Und falls die gerade nicht zahlen möchten, "finanzieren" wir ihnen den Deal am besten wieder. Bis sie dann Holocaust sagen.

Nicht nur gegen Kinderpornographie will Indien zugleich scharf vorgehen, sondern auch jegliche obszönen Darstellungen verbieten lassen. Ein Unterschied zwischen Produzenten und Nutzern wird dabei nicht gemacht.

Auch wer Porno übers Internet allein anschaut, steht damit bereits mit einem Fuß im Gefängnis. Ihm drohen bis zu zwei Jahre Haft.

Selbst niedere Polizeibeamte dürfen beim Verdacht auf illegalen Pornokonsum etwa Wohnungsdurchsuchungen durchführen.
