Berlin-Declaration of Attac in Europe, at the ESF Preparation Meeting,
The G-8 Summit in Evian
01.Jun.2003-03.Jun.2003 the heads of state and government of the eight richest and most powerful countries
will
meet at the G-8 Summit
in Evian.
Regardless of past differences,
they will try
to legitimize
anew
their status as
a self- appointed
world
government.
We,
Attac in Europe,
address
the people of the world
with an indictment of the policies of a directorate of governments
which has no mandate
whatsoever
for any such world rulership.
We,
on the contrary,
demand
that the G-8 be dissolved.
In this context,
we call for a mobilization of European people
to take part in mass protests in Evian.
We want to show
that another,
more just world is possible.

Zum G8-Gipfel nach Evian!
Vom
01. Bis 03. Juni
treffen sich
erstmals nach dem Irak- Krieg
die Regierungschefs der acht reichsten und mächtigsten Staaten
in Evian.
Ungeachtet der vergangenen Differenzen
werden sie dort
ihren Status als selbsternannte Weltregierung
erneut versuchen
zu legitimieren.
Wir,
Attac in Europa,
wenden uns an die der Erde, um die
Folgen der Politik eines Direktoriums von Regierungen anzuprangern, das
zu einer solchen Weltherrschaft keinerlei Mandat besitzt.
Statt dessen fordern wir die Auflösung der G8.
Vor diesem Hintergrund
rufen wir dazu auf,
nach Evian zu kommen und
sich dort an den massenhaften Protesten zu beteiligen.
Wir sollten deutlich zeigen,
daß eine andere,
gerechtere Welt möglich ist.
